JAY-Z's DEAD!

We are eternally
grateful to everyone who made JAY-Z's DEAD! possible. From Jay-Z
and The Grateful Dead for being so cool about us ripping them
off and never ONCE threatening to sue us to
Owsley "Bear"
Stanley, Bob Thomas, and Justin Hampton for the artwork to
complete the "bootleg" product. It was Di Vinci who
said "Art is never finished, only abandoned." I like to think
that great art is never abandoned, only waiting. We are humbled
for the accolades this project has received and are appreciative
of the good press (infact we have yet to see a bad "print"
review - the message boards are another thing). Great
ingredients make a great soup. We were just in the kitchen
cooking something up. Glad to have had the opportunity.

TRIVIA!
The name
"Jay-Z's Dead!" was intended to be a play on the band "Jazz
Is Dead" featuring Jimmy Herring, T. Lavitz, and Jeff
Sipe among others.
Spinjunkies
first
Black Album mashups used The
Who and was to be titled JIGGA WHO?
Trey Anastasio called
JAY-Z's DEAD! his "dream (mashup)"
The
original CD version of JAY-Z's DEAD! contained an intro track which
poked fun at record labels and the music industry in general and had
"King Solomon's Marbles" playing in the background.
The title
is officially "JAY-Z's DEAD!" including the exclamation point.
